CAREER CHANGE!?!?

I have been helping out my father at the grocery store for almost 7 months now. I was only suppose to stay an help for 6 months, until the store settled, and after that for me to move on. So now I am debating on what to do. Should I go and look for a job as a financial or buisness analyst or should I just go balls out and go to motorcycle mechanic school? I just started riding sportbikes 2 years ago and my passion for bikes grows with every ride. I would really love to motorcycle school, but I don't know if our current economy will be able to support my income, due to the fact that most people do most of the small work themselves and only save the big work for mechanics. hmm.. should I go or just settle in to finish my MBA program at University of Phoenix online program, in which I have 9 classes left, or should I go to Florida for bike school? HELP ME!!

SUPER BIKE SCHOOL !!

I signed up for Keith Codes superbike school. It feels great to know that I will soon be riding at Virginia International Raceway. This track is where the Suzuki Nationals are being held at every year and also where some of the formula 1 race cars race. The class is on Sept 1st and I will be riding their track bike Ninja ZX-6R. I wanna learn to lean and drag knee so badly.

But of course the REAL excitement is when I will go to Vegas to get hitched to my long time pleasure toy =) LMAO, KT Rittle!! lol.. Also she wants to get a bike and take the bike classes. Wow! Not many guys can say that their girl is gonna be a rough rider!! lol. We are gonna get her a kick ass helmet and jacket so when she goes to get her bike, she'll already have the gear!!

Well thats it for now.

FATHER'S WORDS OF WISOM- TRANISM

In working with my father, he tells me many life lessons and teachings to live by. While we were talking he mentioned that, I needed to learn as much as I can where ever I can and when I can. The more you know the better armed you are for the world.

He phrased it best in saying, "learning more is like a riding a pig. You ride a pig to look for a horse and when you find the horse, you jump on the horse to look for an elephant. An elephant is strong and can defend himself." If you don't know what you are doing at a job, people step all over you and look at you like a pile of sh*t. On the other hand, if you are well knowledge and can do more than they can, they jump back and treat you better. Sometimes they will treat you like a king if they really need you. Always grow yourself so you can be better armed for that jungle of world.

SO YOU KNOW MY FATHER

Having a father who is a successful business man, can be great and annoying at times. A lot of the times, when working at my father's store, people/customers would come up and say hey! are you so and so's son? I would look up at the person and acknowledge, yeah, I am his son. After I say that, here comes the shots.

Well, I know your father, we go way back or I know your father he's a good buddy of mine. Here's the frustrating part. They would ask for free stuff, discounts or try to get information out of me so, they can turnaround and use the information against my father. F**k them.

One jerk came up and demanded, hey your so and so son, I know your father call him to the front for me, I need him to give me a discount on something. Oohh I dunno what was going through my head, but I immediately said, "I am not going to call him to front, and everyone says that they know my father. I don't know you, I don't care if you know my father. You don't know me. Get out of my face."

I am also tired of people using my father's name to get something out me. If they really knew my father, then why hasn't he talked about them. I guess their not that important to him, so f**k them.

I am also weary of my father's so called "friends" that smile a lot. My father calls them clowns. Because clowns have happy painted faces and you can't tell what is underneath. They might have happy painted faces, but they are probably plotting to hurt you or take your money in someway. We just don't know, but always becareful of people who smile a lot and talk less.

MY FAVORITE QUOTE

I got this quote from somewhere so don't sue me because I didn't reference it right.

YOUR INCOME WILL NEVER EXCEED YOUR PERSONAL GROWTH

Wow, makes me want to go learn about, how to successfully rob a bank, without being detected. They should offer that at NOVA community college.

AT WORK NONSENSE

I am at work, in an international grocery store. Predominately managed and owned by Koreans. I have nothing against Koreans. A lot of my friends are Koreans, but on with my rant. If you managed a grocery store, where 60% of your customers are Spanish and 35% are Vietnamese/Chinese, who the hell in their right mind would blast Korean music all f**king day long and everyday, knowing that 95% of the customers doesn't understand what hell is being said, let alone, could give two shIts (yes, I did that "I" on purpose) about Korean Pop music. Everytime I change the CD player to play Spanish or Chinese/Vietnamese music, Sum Dum Fuk keeps changing it.

Also, for every Spanish or Chinese/Vietnamese music CD we have, there is, literally 21 Korean music CD's. WTF.

That is all for now.

Thanks for listening

THE DUCK AND CHICKEN SCENARIO

Working in an international grocery store has its great moments. The other day, one of our bakery vendors came in to deliver some products. The delivery guy is a chinese man, who barely spoke any english. He had a helper who was a young spanish guy, I believe that guy was from El Salvador. They came in with the bakery goods and as I was walking by, my dad waved for me to come over. So I went over thinking there was a problem.

When I arrived I could see both delivery men lay out the bakery goods onto the trays. Not even before I can ask what was wrong, the spanish guy dropped one of the expensive birthday cakes. Then I heard my dad whispered, "Watch! its like duck talking to chicken." The chinese guy started yelling in chinese and flalling his arms. The spanish guy was terrified and started speaking in spanish rapidly.

I busted out laughing so hard, that I had to walk away. Ahh great times at Grandmart International foods. Thanks Grandmart. You made my day

Business: A Part of Everyone's Life

I come from "business oriented" family background and graduated with a Business Administration degree. After getting out of college and surviving the real world for about 5 years, I have talked to many of my old friends about their current job status. Some don't have jobs, and some do. Some like their jobs and some don't. Some do it for the money and some do it because it's their passion.

After talking with friends and looking at tons of job posts, I have come to believe that everyone should have some sort of business knowledge, whether it would be high school, 13th grade (community college), or university level. Let me give you some examples.

1. A dentist's practice will not survive long if he is to provide services without compensation. Therefore he needs to learn a little about "business processes."

2. A genius, computer information system tech, who has life made because a corporation is paying him 100k + a year to maintain their servers. Okay, well he provides the service to the company which in turns provides service to another company for compensation. What were to happen if the company asks him to build a new server, maintain it, and asks him for his opinion as to how much it money it would take to maintain and build, and how to sell the idea to the prospecting company. Most companies will have different departments doing sales, analysts and marketing, but times have changed and companies are consolidating their workers, making them do more for less.

3. You are a pharmacist tech, you just got fired, and no one will hire you. How would you earn income then? You would most likely have to start your own business. I don't care if you have to prostitute yourself, your still doing business.

Another way to prove my point is, let me ask you this. Have you ever thought about creating your own business? Think about that time in your life, where you thought to yourself. Man, it would be great if I could start a business for this. At least 80% of you will say yes. 10% will say no because they have a passion to become a nun or work for a non profit organization of some sort, which is fine. The last 10% are already in business and have done it.

Business: is defined as the exchange of goods or services for monetary or other compensating value.

So in essence, I believe everyone should learn about or get an idea about how businesses process works.

Another Day At Customer Service

I work at an international grocery store, customer service section. The store is well known in the community to be Korean owned. I mentioned this because plays a small part in my experience. I have a lot of different races and nationalities, come to return, complain, or ask where certain items are, which is fine. But this one old Korean lady comes up to my counter, slams down her item and asks me, "Are you Korean?" I calmly said, "No." She looks at me and says, "Well I am Korean." I am thinking in my head, "Well that's great, but I don't give a rats ass."

She then begins to yell at me, and tells me that the product is bad and how she had to go out of her way to drive back to the store, to return this product. I calmly told her that I would refund her the money. I get the receipt an the item price is $2.49. By the way, during the time she was giving me the receipt to when I pulled the money out of the register to return to her, she was raging about how bad the product was. As I was giving her the money, she looks at me dead in the eye and tells me that she wants $2.99 because that's the current price. At this point I was really frustrated, and said, "No, you paid $2.49 and that's what I am going to give to you." She gave me hell about not giving her $2.99, but at this point I didn't give a f**k, and put the $2.49 on the table and just stood there looking at her.

Here's the kicker though, she then demands that I pay her gas money for her commute from her house to the store. At this point I am thinking in my head, "WTF, did you just get off of Korean Air?" I told her in a raised voice, " No we do not give out gas money, just because you wanted to refund an item, try going to Target and see if they will give you gas money!" She replies with a demanding voice, "Where is your manager?" During this time, the store manager is directly behind me in the office doing some paper work. I replied, "I am the manager!"

She snickers and asks, "Is this grocery store Chinese owned. It is isn't it?" I stared into her sagging old lady eyes, and shouted. "This store is 100% Korean owned!" which is bull, because it was half owned by a Chinese and Korean man. She then glares at me for a moment and then storms off. I told this to my store manager who was Korean and then he just laughed.

More thoughts and experiences to come. Thanks for reading
